Met a chap on a train about six months ago drinking red wine straight from the bottle. Got chatting and he told a story that was almost exactly like yours (except he’d been with Accenture a year by then). He was working his notice and moving to a new job.His gripe was that he had been hired because of his experience (technical and working on client-side) and then had been sidelined because of his age and lack of consultancy experience. Had spent a year working for a series of late-twenty/early-thirty Managers who uniformly saw an "older" man as a threat or as deadwood.KPMG, EY, Deloitte, etc would be a much better bet. Would not recommend Accenture for someone in your position. Too many baby-faced first time managers with no interpersonal skills.
