I am an Engineer for 8 years, and today I got 2 jobs offer, 1) Technical Delivery Manager (Giant company)2) L2 Support Engineer (Small company)Both offered the same salary thought.Can someone please convince me that I should accept the offer no 1 ? Al thought I was thinking to accept the offer no 2 offer because of past experiences as engineer, and to be honest am quite scared to accept the Manager position, its my first time as manager so to speak.

What are you good at - managing other people or doing technical work? What would you prefer to do?Will you lose your technical skills working as a Manager?What kind of management role is this? Will you have direct reports or is it one of those bogus "manager" job titles so popular nowadays? Personally I don't want to be a Manager unless I'm offered a significantly higher salary and can continue using my technical skills.

i have experience for the position no 2, but as a manager, its a brand new task that i never done before, its direct report to the department head, and i will have no any engineers report to me.
