Hi. No one replied to my thread asking for debrief on the exp hire deloitte AC day. I think it was because the topic has been done to death and i should have searched the other threads. My bad.One thing that isn't clear - searching all 68 of those related threads - is whether you can actually prepare for the day? Can I have some opinions on this? Obviously better to research the firm, so i can answer the usual 'why dot' etc, but the other stuff like case study and presentation - is preparation a bad thing? should i go in thinking on my feet? what is your advice?thanks

Preparation always helps.Apart from the obvious differences, most consulting firms follow a similar recruiting process and there is plenty of resources online (just google case study) that will give you an idea of what to expect.However, at the end of the day, you either have it or you don't, so do some research about the firm, be ready to explain why you want to join Deloitte, and take it easy.Also, important that you try to enjoy yourself. It may sound stupid, but people want to see whether you would like doing what Deloitte does (...) and whether they would like to work with you.And do not ask stupid questions.

I would be very surprised if there were any. I've heard about it a few times, but never really met anyone who had ever asked that question in Deloitte or had to answer that type of question in an interview. Of course, we all know a friend of a friend that had to...To be honest, I doubt anyone interviewing you will have a clue about how to answer that question. Again, if they do ask you that type of thing (which I repeat that I'd seriously doubt), make sure you say something that makes sense or is reasonable-enough. You will also have to make assumptions during the case study, and there is not a wrong/right answer: they want to see that you structure your thoughts and you make logical and reasonable assumptions.Good luck.
