I have a telephone interview coming up with PWC.I'm not sure to expect from this. Is it just a good old general natter about aspirations and the weather, or is it a formal/serious Q&A type session? What tone do I take with this? Will I be speaking to a highly serious career man in a suit with no sense of humour and a very grey expression on his face, or will I be talking to a bubbly HR bod who wants a bit of flirting to brighten up her day a little?Any tips for what they're looking for in this interview? And any pointers as to what ground they intend to cover? Thanks in advance!

The sexism in your post, second to none.

I did it two months ago. It's not done by a PwC employee; they subcontract it out to a third party. It's based on the core competencies which you can find on their website. Just google PwC competencies.

I just read that as "PwC incompetencies". Subliminal, and too little sleep methinks.

I did this last month and progressed to the next round. Yes, it is outsourced to a third party, but the question still stands – serious bloke or dotty totty? No need to worry on this score, it is a very lightweight Q&A session by a “dotty totty”. She’s very nice, but as you say could definitely do with a bit of flirty conversation to brighten up her otherwise dull day (she spends it talking about PWC core competencies for crying out loud!!)I noticed that she gave me a really easy time on some of the questions after I mentioned that she had a very passionate sounding voice, and asked if she had the legs to match. I suggest you consider similar approach.Good luck.

If you do get a bit of crumpet on the line don't fall into the trap of answering her questions! Loads do this and go nowhere (also known as PwC).Offer to pop over and demonstrate your core competencies.
