They do offer a car allowance, but not much else.It starts at C2 (i.e. grad +1) and as far as I remember was pretty generous (around £4k I think). The C2 salary itself is deplorable, but because the car allowance kicks in a grade earlier than in many other places, the overall package was just about OK.

I thought that CG had gone over to the 'Total Benefit Package' system where the car allowance isnt specified and you got a TBP lumped onto the base and you worked how you wanted to distribute that through as much salary sacrifice as possible (Busy Bees, Pension etc..)If now, how archaic....

As said above, they do a total benefits package and you can choose how much or how little to spend on a car, medical etc or just take as cash. It's 12k for a manager level employee in TS.

"As said above, they do a total benefits package and you can choose how much or how little to spend on a car, medical etc or just take as cash."Now correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that what's normally just called a "Salary"?I expect you can even spend it on i-pods, groceries, rent, shoes and television sets if you like!

If you wish to view it that way then yes. However it's not a salary as it isn't counted for things like pension, bonus etc and is a set amount per grade on top of your variable base salary. It's not unique to CG, but offers the opportunity to choose what suits your circumstances.

So basically it's like salary, except worse?Because with salary, your pension amount will depend on your salary. Except you're saying that CG give you a smaller salary then some extra money but the extra money won't be used as a basis for calculating your pension?Nice!

I got my offer letter today, on a 88k base I got a 15% benefits pack ( 13.2k ) , plus 20% bonus on base ( 17.6k )....does this make sense ? Recruitment person says ..."your total package is 118.8k" ..... thoughts, is this good, level senior manager, he said it is one level below VP ?

love how recruiters always ask for your current "base" and then describe the offer in terms of "total package", and describe it as a 30% increase on that basis. total math fail.

CG Offer basic salary and then 19% of that basic salary as benefits. You can use pretty much all of that 19% as cash if you want or use some / all of it against the benefits they offer. Bonus kicks in at C3 level and is on top of the basic salary and 19% benefits.

what is in this "benefits pack" - are these all the usual medical, dental etc and is there any benefit to maxing this out as opposed to leaving it as cash? Please be detailed and descriptive - seriously, I'm curious why this is always trumpeted in CG's comp vs other SIs?
