Hey Guys,I was looking at the consulting salaries in the US - http://managementconsulted.com/consulting-salaries/2015-management-consulting-salaries-undergraduate-mba-interns/There is a huge disparity compared to what we are getting in London. Most other comparable occupations like IB and law, the salary disparities are a lot smaller. It is quite ridiculous how much more people in the US are making compared to in London, when London is considered the most expensive city in the world to live in.

But in london you have job protection. If you get laid off they pay you for decent amount of time - I know as I have UK Employees. US Employees have zero protection and can be fired at will and are fired at will so you are far better off remaining in a country that has protection. Consultancies love hiring and or moving people to America - and their relo packages suck - so that they can get rid of you at will. And when I say at will, you could be delivering very well, have your clients and stakeholders love you, have the feedback and numbers to prove it but if your manager does not like for any reason, you are gone and if you are lucky, you get one week of pay for each year of services so if you just join a firm in the US and get fired or laid off, you are screwed. I know as I have to lay off people all the time and the UK people are always the last to go because we do not want to have to pay them for a year + accrued vacation that happens during that year and a bunch of other benefits that are astonishing to us americans and we only wish we had that.
