Hi everyone,I am new to the forum but have been reading avidly over the past year. I've finished my undergrad and have been offered positions with LEK, Strategy& and Monitor Deloitte (UK). Strategy& looks like the best bet for the time being. However, I am a non UK citizen so I would be traveling quite a bit due to my language skills. Thus, can anyone tell me about their respective travel policies, preferred airlines, hotels, per diems etc?Given the amount of time I will be spending traveling, it seems an important factor for my decision. Thanks a lot!

Hi, I suspect the companies travel and expense policy is similar. Often the policy will not be as generous for more junior grades. UK companies tend to let you charge the actual costs of meals, travel etc up to a certain limit rather than giving you a daily per diem. I've not worked for any of the companies you've mentioned however, I suspect that broadly the policy will be:- Economy class flights, or if more than 4-6 hours Business Class (Accenture allows Business Class only if more than 8 hours and the person is SM or above) - 4* hotel, Hilton etc or if you're unlucky Holiday Inn type standard- standard class rail tickets- £30 ish evening meal allowance and a bunch of other stuff.

I don't know this for sure but now that Strategy& is part of PwC I would imagine their policies will be reasonably aligned. So you're looking at reasonably good hotel budgets and daily subsistence, per diems are available when on overseas jobs. Can't tell you anything about airlines I'm afraid but if this is a deal breaker for you then I suggest you're in a pretty strong position already. Expenses claiming policy/process is anecdotally more onerous than other big 4 firms. Strategy& allegedly still have office drinks trolleys.
