Hi everyoneI have a query that I hope some experts here would clear for me.What exactly is the difference between Senior Knowledge Analyst vs Consultant/Associate role in BCG? (I am in Europe)I am an MBA graduate from top European MBA school (with previous industry experience in senior roles) and just looking for consulting opportunities. I know that MBAs would normally go in as Associates/Consultants, but was contacted by someone with a job opening for Senior Knowledge Analyst.I am not sure if I have to proceed with this application. Is Senior knowledge Analyst a junior role considering I have an MBA + 5 year specific Industry experience pre-MBA? Any idea on the salaries between this and consultant role?any kind of info would be appreciated.

Sounds like someone who collects and organises IC etc...not a delivery role

My understanding is that BCG have a support function which undertakes the primary research to support consulting project teams, and this is where this role would likely sit. From your brief description you are a very credible consulting candidate, I would advise not to pursue this other role. Even initiating a process could be interpreted as lacking commitment to the consulting route should BCG want to move that forwards.

The Big 4 company I work for has a similar team, if you're looking for client facing consulting work I would not advise it unless you've being knocking on several doors and this is the only one opening for you.

Thanks Marsday, frio and PhilI have not gone forward with that role. True, the whole sense of MBA learning will go wasted if it is not a client facing job. I will try to apply to specialist consulting roles.
