Heh. I came across an interesting one today.A guy going by the name of "John McDibbertson" (not his real name). Applying for a role at "McDibbertson Consulting" (not the real company name). You should have seen them all sucking up to him!It made me wonder: Clearly this is an effective technique to getting a foot in the door and progressing one's career. Sort of like someone called John McKinsey might potentially get thought of if he applied to a leading firm of consultants. Or John Goldman or John Rothschild if they applied to a leading bank.I wonder what other interesting little possibilities like this exist. A quirky phenomenon worth thinking about.

You mean change your name by deed poll like the girl in the paper whose cat ran over her keyboard whilst she was booking a sleazyjet flight? Deed Poll was cheaper than the admin fee to alter the flight booking. Why not go the whole hog and change your name to:"Top Dawg""The Boss""I Earn Considerably More Than You"or "Bushy Eyed Partner";)Of course the Deed Poll bit is entirely optional. I'd say this is a good strategy to avoid the pesky background checks on your previous embarassments.

Change your name to that of the interviewer when you get called for interview. Arrive well dressed and when you meet explain calmly that you are them - only the improved version, smarter, better looking, more juiced in and above all everything they could have been if only they had been more dynamic.
