Hello,I have been working for 5 years in Industry now, and have always wanted to make the move into Consulting. I've had various opportunities at Big 4 firms to work in the same field I've specialised in, but I've recently become interested in Strategy (Generalist role).Do I stand in chance for a role in strategy, considering that all my experience was in a Supply Chain/Logistics area ? I am able to demonstrate strategic decision making and business acumen, but do not have some of the job requirements such as market/competitor analysis...etcMany of my colleagues went for a Manager position there after 5 years in my current company; considering my limited strategy experience will they try to set me for a senior associate rather than a manager ? If so, do you recommend I take it anyways ?Thank you

From conversations I've had, and what I've read online regarding strategy consulting, it's a highly cerebral and analytical discipline where highly educated staff are the norm. That's not to say you couldn't demonstrate how your background makes you suitable for a strategy role, but I would think it would be more likely for you to find yourself in an operational consulting team. In any case there are some highly strategic projects to be found in operations consulting, if that would satisfy your need.

Five years in an industry means you are master in your job. I think a better option for you is work in other company with same stream with higher salary than moving to PCW strategy. You will never appointed as a trainee with this much years of experiences.
