Hello all,So i participated at IBM AC last month in London, after a week i received an email that i passed and they are preparing the offer.2.5 weeks later i contacted the hr department and he told me that there are some final approval to make the contract and it will be ready within the next few days.on last Friday i received an email which says that since there is no actual need in the team i will be put on hold, and if there will be any future projects they might contact me again.what does it mean? what are the chances? is it a nice way to say we don't want you?what should i expect? have any of you faced that issue with IBM GBS?thank you all in advance

I guess it's what one could call "on demand" staffing...

I heard that they've been cutting back on their Services arm. Could be bad timing.

It's not you it's them...They are in another round of cost cutting and redundancies. Budgets are frozen and travel is stiffiled etc...Likely you were recruited because they have a desperate need to build capability and credentials in certain areas which they are keen to get into to. However the work has not materialised yet. You would also get killed at year end review for poor utilisation if you spend time on the bench. Chances? Unlikely Move on
