Hello,I have received offers from both firms at graduate level- both within their FS practice. Which one would you go for and why? Am very confused!

KPMG as you are starting out this will be far more useful on your cv in later years.Don't want to say how PA are like most others here would, so its a no brainer unless one is offering so much more money than the other which I doubt and KPMG on CV is far better.Assuming both are similar roles of course.DC

Thanks for the quick reply.Does anyone have any thoughts on the whole 'small fish in a big pond vs small fish in a small pond' debate? Ie if I were to join kpmg I would be just one of many as opposed to one of few in PA?Also, does having kpmg on cv opposed to pa mean that much more for the future?...the work at pa seems a tad better in that I would probably get a broader experience of consulting within FS and more responsibility as teams are generally smaller? KPMG without a doubt.KPMG is top 4 and is known for their FS work, whereas PA is less so.If you do well at KPMG you will get promoted, so it isn't about big pond small fish. Ovb you will be against the best so you will be tested but always KMPG

Ultimately, you should go with whichever your gut feel is telling you. Where did you feel most at home etc.However, that said, KPMG will look infinitely better on the CV... being a big firm, you will get lots of training, varied work etc etcThink carefully and try to talk to a grad (of last year) from each firm - see how they feel. See which you think works best for you.Some of us are big firm lovers, some of us are small firm types - you will need to work out which you are. If unsure, go for the one that helps your CV the most while you are trying to work it out and in this case thats KPMG

Yes, congratulations on securing a graduate offer in this tough job market - well done!Like the others have said, I would have thought that KPMG would be the better offer if only because you're joining a "financial services" practice and KPMG is a firm of accountants - this must improve credibility and look great on the CV I would have thought? Also does KPMG have more in the way of regional offices? Could be a consideration if you ever want to move out of London.well done again
