Hello, I am planning to make a move into Consultancy and wondered whether there are any such roles that make particular use particular of Microsoft Excel for modelling (like cost analysis) which are also coupled with business advisory? I've tried looking about online but only seem to find results on being an Excel Consultant outright which is not what I am looking for. Not sure if it matters but my first (and current) role out of university was Work stream lead for an ERP implementation as a permanent employee of the firm. In the time there have done several Excel based mini-projects which has resulted in this interest.Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance

Unfortunately you are a little too late. Before the most recent financial crash all consulting engagements used excel in one way or another. Now, as the belts are tighter and the hands are firmly in other people's pockets, we have to use typewriters and count on fingers.

That's retro chic that is. Is the chisel ivory-behandled? (Yes it's a word.)

Excel! Really? If you can't run complex monte carlo simulations in your head, there is no way you have the mental horse power to be a Management Consultant. Unless of course you are aiming for Mckinsey, BCG or one of those bottom tier firms, I hear they still use Excel.
