Dear All,I am looking to start a new career as a Management or Change Consultant. I was wondering if a certificate in project management would improve my chances of getting hired? Won't harm, but frankly consulting is not project management and many folk think PM quals are fluff anyway. I'd focus on getting good grades in academic subjects like English, maths or a science.

Pedro,I would slightly disagree with BEP. He is right that a qualification won't get you the job.HOWEVER, it is all about helping to "open the door slightly more" to get you that interview.A qualification such as PRINCE2 will not get you the job, but it will help your application that little bit more.You will still need very very good academic grades, a good degree from a great University, lots of outside Uni activities etc to have a chance.In short, the PM qual is not going to hurt your app, but neither will it mean certain interviews
