I have had a offer from Sogeti and also a offer from Capgemini as a Test Analyst. As you may know Sogeti are a part of Capgemini but they HR and interview processes are different. The Capgemini offer is about £2000 p/a better and 5 days annual leave better. The main issue is I had already signed the acceptance letter from Sogeti as the job with Capgemini was not firm and I still had a face-face interview and test. How do I get out of the agreement I signed? Is Capgemini a better option than Sogeti, especially considering I will be leaving after maybe 2 years to go contracting I need training and stability.

Cap seems the much better choice.Just inform HR you've had a change of circumstances and need to terminate your offer. They're hardly likely to want to drag you in to the company, and even if they did you'd probably have time to serve notice now and never have to work there anyway.

Are they a stable company at the moment? I wouldn't want to sit on the bench for ages.

They are in effect a single company..what I mean is..if there is a contract that is won for a project with some client, if there are no resources to do the work in Sogeti, they will get the resources from CG....similarly if there are no resources in CG for some work, they will first look for resources in Sogeti..so in effect if you are on bench..then that means both of them dont have projects...more importantly..CG is more known for consulting..Sogeti..is purely testing...so in future if you want to move out of testing and do something else..CG provides better options internally..Sogeti will be only testing..
