Alright guys,Just looking for some opinions, not necessarily for my MC aspirations but more from what professional people think. How do you feel about a joint honours degree over a single honours? Is it less 'respected' given that it's over two subjects rather than one? The degree in question would be Business & Management and Economics or just Business & Management (although a single honours in Economics is an option instead). I think the subjects are a good match for each other, but I'm just interested in what you guys think. Cheers.

I think you end up doing 2/3 of a degree in each subject. So overall a joint honours is harder.

I agree with BEP - I did joint honours and, at least in my day, you end up doing far more than 50% of each subject. Maybe universities have become better at balancing it but I doubt it. I'd go single honours.

yes, especially if you have lecturers who aren't any good at teaching or understanding the needs of their audience (i.e. they dump as much info on you as they can to the highest possible academic standard regardless of whether you're a post-grad or a fresher), and worse still if those same people are the examiners

lol.... sometimes I still wake up in a cold sweat thinking about some of those lecturesI remember once being in a lecture and starting to fall asleep. it didn't matter much, though, because everybody else (including the lecturer) was pretty much asleep too.then there was the guy who gave a 1 hour presentation using around 400 slides, each of which was packed from corner to corner with hardcore theory... it makes you wonder if some of them have ANY awareness whatsoever of the needs/perspective of other people
