Advice: PwC or Deloitte (Australia)

Hi, I'm a senior manager (IT consulting) and have offers from both firms (in Sydney). The PwC offer is better but my sense is that the Deloitte team is more dynamic - possibly a better long term option. I'd be very keen to hear from people with first hand experience:1. what are the cultures like2. which firm is the better option for a senior manager (responsibility, empowerment, work-life, progression etc)3. market perception / reputation (i.e. exit options)Thanks in advance.

just my 0.02c reputationally Deloitte would be best. I'm not aware PWC is all that great in Aus either, depending on you specific background, if you are in SI/large scale delivery then give ACN a look.Would say that for most of those types of firms, progression to Director/SE/Partner will largely be down to your networking/sales ability - assuming you are emigrating from the UK it will take time to build up that network.

I agree with the above post. Career progression is mostly depending on your ability to sell/bring in new business.

Thanks. Any views on the differences between these two outfits (in Australia), specifically their cultures and positioning in the market?

I would agree with the above post. Deloitte has a greater variety of work than pwc or anyother big 4 in aus. However, the PWC brand name carries more weight than the deloitte one.Salaries are about the same...
