The banding for an SC at EY is incredibly wide. For example: A graduate joiner to the firm at 21, fresh out of uni, can make SC on the ACP program in 2 years, this is the expected timeline, if they excel, it can be 18 months but this is a very rare case. The salary in this case would be circa 38-42k if memory serves. On the other hand: I know an SC who recently joined the firm with just under 10 years experience from IBM who is earning circa 60k.So it really depends on your background and experience.

EY'er - thanks for the information. I have 4 years at Accenture under my belt and 2 years as a contractor (contracting experience also within consulting). I actually applied for a manger position but E&Y think that I am more of a senior consultant within your organisation - I've been made an offer of £60K, is that resonable?

An SC offer of 60k from EY is a solid offer, definitely one of the better offers for an SC role and would place you at the top end of SC salaries. Generally an SC on a 60k salary... I would expect to be looking at the promotion to manager within the next 12 months.Could I ask what area of EY you would be moving into? This would enable me to give you a slightly better picture, or I suppose... make it less clear if it's an area I'm not overly familiar with.

The role is within the Advisory practice - People and Change....Yes, the expectation is to make manger within the next 12 months. Do you know what a manager makes? I would assume between 67-75? Does that sound about right?

P&OC... Not my area, but I've got some great colleagues in that team, worked very closely with P&OC people for the past 8/9 months or so now, good bunch of people. If you made manager in 12 months, starting from the 60k offer you currently hold. Yes, I would expect something around 67-75. However There are managers who make slightly less, although these are the managers who maybe hold a slightly lower SC salary than you have been offered, as I have said, a 23-26 year old SC may only be on around 40-42k, with a 3 year progession to manager they would be very lucky to be looking at 75k, more likely around the 60mark. Hope that makes sense, bit of a brain dump.
