Hi there,I'm looking for some guidance concerning the process and interview expectations for an experienced hire role for a new venture under Accenture Operations in the US.So far, my process has been the following:1. Application (through employee referral).2. Contact 2-3 weeks later from Recruiter for an initial screen call.3. After some email exchange, finally settled on a date about 2 weeks later from initial contact.3. Initial Screen Call (1st Interview)4. A couple of business days later, I was notified that I would be moving on to the next round for a "skills interview" with a Managing Director by phone.5. Had to reschedule twice as MD was very busy and traveling (4 weeks since initial screen interview).6. My skills interview is confirmed for next week.Overall, the whole process has been quite long. Since initial email contact from the Recruiter, it has been about 6 weeks and there are still steps left in the process. Right? I haven't found any forums paralleling my process so far, so I was hoping someone out there might know what I should expect if they had a similar experience. What does a skills interview consist of for a marketing specialist role? Why am I getting an MD interview as my second interview? Isn't that normally slated for third or final round?Any insights would be appreciated! Hope others can learn, too!

How long the process takes, strongly depends on the recruiter and the MD in question... Especially how strong the MD is when it comes to planning and sticking to the plan. What level are you applying at, this may be the reason why it's an MD who gets to do the skills interview? And considering that you're talking about a new venture, the MD in charge may simply want to be more closely involved in the screening process as he's shaping his new team. He may not even have many other people below him with sufficient content knowledge to do a proper interview...Probably good to ask the recruiter whether that MD will be in charge of the "new venture" team or whether he's still an intermediate step in the recruitment chain.

Cannot say about the length of the process, mine took over 6 months from application, to final interview & offer. (demand is also a factor in timelines) My skills interview was also with an MD and I was expecting few more rounds but that became my final round. agree with the comments above, it might just be MD wanting to be more closely involved with the screening process & perhaps quicker decisions. Good luck , keep us posted on how you get on!

Hmm that's a good point, and now that you mention it, that does sound about right. There was an open posting for the project team lead as well, which shows they were building out the team still. On my initial screen call with the Recruiter, I asked more about the process and we began to have a candid conversation about the status of the new venture. He mentioned something about finding a suitable Manager to conduct the interview. The role requires a few years of specialized experience, which I have. We haven't identified the level I'd be coming in at, although I would have a team under me.

Also, thanks for the insight both of you!pjgovind,Thank you for your personal experience with timeframe. Yes, from application to now, it has been about 2 months. I know it is not extraneously long, and doesn't match 6 months by any stretch, but it is longer than my referral's process, which only took 4 weeks total, so that was the comparison I was working with. You're right to say, it must depend on need/demand.If I may ask, what did your skills interview consist of and was that your 2nd round? My role isn't extremely technical, which is to say it is not a developer or engineering role. The Recruiter mentioned there wouldn't be case studies involved in my process either.Any help is greatly appreciated!

Update:Had my interview with the MD and it was very casual. We talked openly about various opportunities, as he said he could point me in any direction. He said I was fine on competency and he would report back that we had a great conversation and that we should move along with next steps. It seems he was just a "train stop" in the recruitment process, as he said he would speak to the Hiring Manager to see what's next. I'm a little confused as he said I would be better suited for a consulting job but also said we would move along to next steps. Is this normal to be referred to a different position in the interview process and if so, would I restart the whole process for the new role?

what role did you apply for? You may well be suitable to their consulting workforce (if the role you applied was in a different workforce) or to a specific industry group. I had a similar experience, applied for a role, went on hold, spoke to an MD in strategy who said next steps , suitable for consulting and then finally offered a role in an industry group. Have you followed up with the recruiter? he/she may be able to shed some light.

I actually got an email notifying me that I will be moving on to the final interview with a team member for the original position I applied for. The only feedback I received was that the MD gave positive feedback to the HM.Not sure what a final interview with a team member will consist of, and how (if) the offer will be made.Hopefully it goes well - thank you for your help!

Hi there, same thing happened to me in the UK, a 45-min recruiter interview (quite junior I'd say) followed by a one-hour face-to-face skills interview with an MD. I applied for a manager-level position. All in all it's been 2-3 weeks from application to this 2nd interview. I'm a bit confused, and the scheduling people are unresponsive over email. I asked for more details and I haven't received any.

The Accenture experienced hire recruitment process is an initial screening call followed by a 1 hour face-to-face interview, usually conducted by an existing employee at least one grade higher than the applicant (commonly M grade).Exceptions to this process may occur due to events such as- Accenture referring a candidate to a different internal workforce, additional f2f if there are any concerns / if a specific team/project/technical group has already been identified. If you can elaborate on why you're confused, perhaps I can assist.

+1 Secret SquirrelThank you for providing those well-informed insights. When the MD said he would refer me to another workforce, I wondered if I would restart the process all the way back to HR.Update: I had a Skype interview with my potential Direct Manager as my final interview. We ended up speaking for 70+ minutes. He covered background, skills, and was curious about specific entrepreneurial experiences from over 4+ years ago. It was very conversational and we ended up building a great rapport. When I asked about next steps, he was hesitant to provide a conclusive answer and said there is a procedure in place and that he would provide the HM with his feedback and she would decide next steps. At this point, I'm just waiting for a decision. It's been three business days thus far. What's a normal amount of time to wait before pinging the Recruiter for an update? I'm thinking one week is normal?

Interview feedback is usually sent to the recruitment team within one or two days of the event, then allow another day or two for processing. After this, negative feedback would be provided fairly soon. For a positive outcome the recruitment team need a senior person to sign-off the 'offer' before it can be communicated. There used to be a weekly call where all offers were reviewed.Perhaps 5 to 10 days if positive news. Best of luck.

pakerpos,In my experience, when things take a bit longer, it may have to do with business need. They may have slated a certain amount of time for the hiring process to play out. For example, if there aren't a surplus of projects floating around, it makes sense to take more time with hiring. The skills interview with the MD really will depend on the MD. In my experience, it only lasted 30 minutes (even though an hour was slated). We just had a very open conversation about career development and cultural fit with Accenture and the specific team.Best of luck!

I'd suggest not following up at this point. Until interview outcomes are fully signed-off/approved, the team wont communicate anything. In my experience they act quite promptly once theres news to share. Typically the wait will be > 5 days after the second stage interview, particularly around holiday season/bank holidays. If successful you'll receive a call in which an offer will be communicated- grade and associated salary/package, home office and possibly start date.Best of luck.

Thank you for quick response. This helps. The JD says position as consultant and level as manager. But with salary cap less than 57 GBP, I believe it is consultant level salary. Are there many levels in consultant position? Is there any info on what is salary range for each level for C&M in London?

Grades and salaries have been mentioned in these forums many many times.I wouldnt get too hung-up on the JD. The interviewers and recruitment team will assess your skills and experience to align you to an Accenture grade. The important thing is the offer.

Hi,I received the offer and I have accepted the same through an email response to HR.However, the offer says that formal acceptance of offer is conditional upon uploading some documents in Accenture Red Carpet. Had anyone else gone through this process? Will they do document verification and provide any final confirmation?

Yes, you will get a link on an email to the Red Carpet. Set up a password to your account, there will be a list of tasks allocated to you on the portal. Including verification/reference check details that you would have to enter. etc. Just follow the steps, pretty straight forward. Congratulations again on your offer! which industry group?

You should have an email already , if not in a couple of days. In fact, one of the tasks will also be to upload a signed copy of your offer letter on the portal. Hope this helps.
