I have attended an assessment centre with Deloitte in London. It took them a little more than two weeks to get back saying that I've passed, and they would like to extend me an offer...That was more than 1 month ago now.I've been calling the Deloitte recruiter and HR but don't seem to get through at all. I've tried using other phones, and managed to get through once and the guy asked me the same questions when I first applied, which are around my current package, salary expectations and Visa status. Which I found odd at this stage, as I've already answered those before and he should have read my file and be ready to make an offer any moment now ! He said he has to agree the package with with senior partners before he can confirm the numbers saying he'll get back to me on the same day, or the day after....again it's been over 2 weeks.I'm not that impressed with them and quite frankly have been put-off by the way I was treated by HR. Did anyone go through a similar experience with Deloitte ? What do you advise me to do in case they come back with an offer ? Thank you

The latest Deloitte Access Economics’s Investment Monitor shows we’ve just seen the biggest fall in construction projects since the depths of the Global Financial Crisis.

I've recently lost two referrals because HR processes are slow and the candidates went elsewhere...Generally speaking, they are a bunch of people sitting in back-office and not representative of the parts of the firm you will come in contact with. Unless you get the sack of course :)

Indeed, don't let your experience with their HR cloud your view on the company as a whole. HR in consulting firms (and other firms at that) are all too often paper pushers that don't have a sense of urgency, in the worst case tend to think of themselves as center of the universe rather than a support function (HR functioning? and offering support?) and are the last to be informed of any HR related matters such as hiring...

That's completely unprofessional of Deloitte. They need to starting treating candidates with respect. Candidates will lose trust and go elsewhere to competitors.I've heard a few cases on this forum over last year or so where they are making offers and then either freezing or putting them on hold. To be ethical, if they say they are going to make an offer, they need to honour their commitments (my word is my bond) and not mess people around.
