Coming up to my first 2 years in a few months in my first role, achieved fairly good progression, promoted once with another (hopefully) on the horizon.HOWEVER took the job in an industry specialism that I had (and continue to have) no interest in... and my enthusiasm wanes daily leaving me feeling like I am continually underperforming.Not sure where to go from here, in terms of staying in a job I don't like in terms of the hours and content. Is 2 years the limit of "hacking it" in MC?

finish your two years but start looking around now as hiring processes are a bit extended in the current market - its ok to leave your first role after that time and would even be expected so you can shake off the 'trainee' label which inevitably follows you through your first company.

If you have been in the company for almost two then it's time to move on. Before looking for your next job, you should evaluate yourself first on what job you really want to do so you will stay longer on the role.
