Hi TCO / CommunityYou seem very experienced in the consulting business, so wanted to ask you a question. I recently completed the interview process with a Big 4 consulting firm. The process was 3 months long and I interviewed with six people. I am an industry hire.I was notified three weeks ago that I would be getting an offer at the Senior Consultant level. I have still not got the offer. The HR rep told me last week that I should be expecting something early this week. This process is extremely frustrating. Does this sound fishy to you? Do you think an offer is still coming? How can I move the process along?Thank you

Fairly typical process, timeline and shoddy handling of candidiates, I'm afraid. MC firms are generally pretty bad at bringing in experienced hires firm industry and quite often it comes down to whether a specific piece of work that they are bidding for comes in the door. Sad isn't it.

Frustrating indeed, but fairly usual I would say. The offer is definitely coming. It is often a way to make you decline other offers you might potentially have on the table. You can definitely put some pressure on the HR department if you are in a hurry. Good luck with it!www.femaleconsultant.com
