Hi,I am currently working for a Tier 1 IB in capital markets and want to make a switch to consulting for various reasons. I interviewed with Accenture SE for their newly launched Risk practice. The response I have got from my head-hunter is that they are considering my application favourably but cannot make an offer as yet for reasons unknown. This has been going on for 3 weeks. I ll be grateful if someone could give me an insight into Accenture recruitment process and is it usual in the industry to be offered a role after a month from the interview. In IB mostly things move pretty fast. Thanks in advance.

Corona - assuming you meant don't do this switch to consulting. Cap markets is financially very rewarding but the job is dull and repetitive. It requires you to be numerate and all that but it doesn't help in developing other aspects of your personality and skills. Any insight into selection process? head-hunter says he has had assurances offer is on its way but delayed due to unknown reasons.

'Due to unknown reasons'? WTF. Unknown to who?Tell your recruiter that's not good enough. If the recruiter doesn't know, tell her to find out (that's her job). If the HR person at ACN doesn't know, tell your recruiter to tell her to find out (that's their job). And if the new Risk practice doesn't know...then they're not doing their jobs properly either. In all seriousness, yes the recruiter works for the company (who will pay them a big whacking fee for finding you), but you need to tell the recruiter to do their f**** job if they want to earn that fee.Due to unknown reasons...chuckle.

This seems far too familiar! I had ranted about my similar experience on another thread. Accenture have left me with an extremely poor impression. My final interview was around Christmas (Risk!) & I yet have to hear anything. Want a shocker? They had approached me in the first instance rather than a usual headhunter! If I were you I'd run a mile. Other Big 4 do Risk too.
