Is it advisable to hook up with the opposite gender from the same office for relationships ranging from one night stands, short or medium term ? What are the pro's or con's ?

There is only one question you need ask: are they more senior than you and in a position to advance your career, either voluntarily (for love) or involuntarily (through blackmail)?What's with the "opposite gender" restriction though? You have to be open-minded if you want to get ahead.

I think its fair enough to specify gender.After all, he would have been shafted by enough Partners and Directors to know if he likes it or not.

I'm currently doing it and would highly recommend it. Not in the same office anymore, but still on the same project. If anything, it's useful conversational material to fill those loveless gaps in bed at night
