Hi,I work in risk management (2 yrs experience). I would like to work for a MC. I know one route to get to that is an MBA. However, an MBA is out of the question for me ($$$). I am thinking of getting an actuarial qualification (already am CFA level 1) and continue to work in the finance industry (3 yrs) before moving into a MC - thinking of Oliver Wyman and others that focus on the financial services.Would specialist knowledge help getting into a MC?

You don't need an MBA or an actuarial qualification for OW. Many experienced hires join OWFS without them. You just need to be good at what you do in one of their key offerings. Besides, you already have specialist knowledge - risk management!Send 'em a CV and see how it goes.

Try for a grade up from grad entry - and you should be applying to Big 4 too. With SII being such a hot topic you should have no difficulty landing interviews.
