Accenture is a shareholder owned company run from New York, Deloitte is a partner owned company run locally from London. Enough said.

I've worked at IBM (PwC Consulting before the acquisition), Accenture (2 years as a Consultant) and now Deloitte (4 years as Senior Consultant and Manager) so would be happy to have a chat offline about my experience - not to mention take a look at your CV and potentially split and recruitment bonus I would get by putting it through the system if you did decide to apply!

as has been said many times before on this forum, if you want to work in advisory consulting, learn how to spell 'advice'.

I gave 9 years to accenture, I feel the partners ( senior execs ) are too arrogant, moreover they have gone down the value chain moving away from consulting to pure technology and BPO work with 81kk people across India and Phillipines. Deloitte ( correct me if I am wrong ) has not gone that route so far , but you never know....

I have worked for both Firms and Deloitte has a much more welcoming and attentive culture. I think someone mentioned that Deloitte is a proper consultancy firm and Accenture is a Systems Integrator and BPO organisation which I agree with.

Deloitte has a work hard and long hours culture.but if you do put the effort in you get the rewards and there is a very solid support structure to help you.Partners generally approachable.

Hi,I saw your post regarding the differences between Accenture's and Deloitte's culture. I currently have offers from both and am having a tough time deciding between the two. I know it ultimately comes down to culture since both are great firms. I'd love it if you could share some insight with me on Deloitte vs Accenture since you've had experience at both firms. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Would also be interested to hear more on this. Have been working at Accenture for around two years and currently have an offer for Consultant at Deloitte...I just want to know if there's going to be a noticeable difference in work/life balance, culture etc. and if so, why.

Never worked for Accenture but I was with Deloitte in London for 3 years and I wish somebody'd routinely give this speech to anyone from Senior Consultant up who's going to spend a lot of time with new junior recruitshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNEDJPeoHZoI honestly found a huge gap between the size of the egos and the amount of actual skills and will in the junior ranks. With all the obvious consequences to it (i.e. sucking up seniors like Dyson hoovers, blowing your own trumpet etc)

Great video!Though I'm still not quite sure what to expect from coming in as a Consultant......as long as it's an increase in responsibility from being an analyst at Accenture.

I think Accenture's a great MNC to work for! One of the best and largest consulting firm around the world. Job seekers are provided with a great deal of incentives and the work environment and scope for learning and growing is immense too. If you need any more details regarding jobs in Accenture visit http://jobs.roundone.in/jobs-in-accenture

Both solid companies both very large. This means you don't have to be doing IT / BPO stuff in Accenture if you position yourself correctly. There's some very interesting work being delivered on a par with the other big consultancies and strategy firms.

You could argue that Deloitte are actually trying to move more in to Accenture's SI style consulting space. They do a lot of SI type projects now.

Since this discussion has come up again, thought I'd add that the DC culture has changed considerably in the last 3 years. It's never had the strongest culture but its definitely harder to define it now. This is probably as a result of a change in leadership, shift in type of work (towards technology and SI as previously mentioned) and large number of acquisitions. The acquisitions have probably had the biggest impact. C.15% people growth last year. There are projects where 80% of people are on their first engagement. Senior Manager and Director grades are a more diverse mix now due to acquisitions. Deloitte's integration of experienced hires is also notiriously weak. People who joined through acquisiition 3 years ago are now leading engagements at various levels and this means culture varies across projects and can be quite unpredictable. 'Delotte culture' is driven by some partners and the analyst in-take.I cannot comment on comparisons with accenture except to say that the move is quite tested and seems to be made without too much trouble in most cases. A former accenture partner told me Deloitte is like Accenture from 15 years ago. Also, there has been a significant push in recent years towards better work-life balance. >60h weeks are not the norm.Would be interested to hear experiences of others.
