Hi I've got offers from Deloitte and PwC strategy teams and weighing up which one to take.PwC salary is slightly higher but their mix of work seems very heavily biased towards CDD. Deloitte seems to have a broader a mix of projects, thought not sure they are all strategic in natureDoes anyone have a view on which would stand me in better stead a few years down the line? any view on which has the better reputation? Ideally want to end up working in an internal strat roleCheersM

Deloitte.Your assessment is pretty much spot on. You are more likely to get client-facing strategy work at deloitte which will provide a better basis to move into industry when you decide to make the move. People from Deloitte Strat have often gone into strat roles at companies like Expedia, Diageo, Microsoft, SAB Miller, BBC, Barclays etc after a couple of years

Deloitte S&O is more used to competing with the traditional strategy consultants. PWC Strategy is more or less focussed on M&A due dilligence, operational synergies etc.

PwC will also be doing much more operational consulting (not so much strategy) as it has merged its strategy practice into its performance improvement consulting practice. The idea is to compete with IBM/Accenture rather than McKinsey.Deloitte has more corporate strategy work.

As mentioned above, PwC Strategy became part of the Consulting division a few months ago.The staff have recently been asked/allocated to do either M&A/CDD work or Corporate Strategy, with more rigid separation between the two than was previously the case. This suits some people but not others - the team has had high staff turnover lately.
