Today is turning to be one of those days where all the below (sent to me as a joke and not supposed to be real life) seem to be true in their own way...------------------Nothing is impossible for the person who doesn't have to do it. We haven't got time to stop for directions - we're late already so just get on with it. RAIDs - a problem shared is a buck passed. It takes one woman nine months to have a baby. Someone please remind Senior Mangt that it cannot be done in one month by impregnating nine women. At the heart of every large project is a small project trying to get out. There is no such thing as scope creep, only scope gallop. Quantitative project management is for predicting cost and schedule overruns well in advance. Metrics are learned men's excuses. Meetings are events in which minutes are kept and hours are lost. At some point in the project someone will finally going to have to give in and define the requirements. Project management is just common sense - the trouble is common sense isn't very common. The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of meeting the date is forgotten. When all's said and done a lot more was said than done. Ultimately, accept that some days you'll be the pigeon and some days you'll be the statue…---------------Yes yes, today it is looking like the statue day! Definitely not the pigeon. Can't we just say "A lack of planning by you does not constitute an emergency for me"!?!
