Hey, am about to start at EY as a graduate in the FS Risk Advisory Department in London. Was wondering how the salary progression works. So what salary can I expect to be on after 2-3 years, after 5-7 years etc. Obviously just rough guides, am more curious then anything :)

Not being rude - but didn't you try and gauge this before taking the job? I'm curious why not.It will obviously depend on what level you get to but there are loads of salary surveys available. You are better off with one of those produced by a recruiter working in your sector than the one on this site for your particular field, I'd say. There is also Glassdoor.

the reality is, if you want the best pay rise possible, that might mean leaving after 2 years...

Very roughly (for Performance Improvement Advisory, not sure how close Risk will be, but I imagine not too far away. Also, London based)graduate starting salary - c. 32kSenior consultant salary (after 2 years) - c.45kManager (after 2-3 years as SC) - 55-60kSenior Manager (2-4 years as Manager) 85-85kIn grade pay increases are minimal, 5-7.5% for (the actual) top performers, for meeting targets etc something like 2-4%

Is the SM salary correct? Seems a bit on the low side. Would have thought closer to 95-110?

It would have been 90-95 about two years ago,As M would have been about 60-65 two years ago.Internal promote salary bumps have been dropping for the past 2 years.EDIT: worth mentioning that internal promotes tend to come in at the bottom of the band. There are SM's who earn in the 100-110 region

Interesting, I asked as I work for a competitor from whom a number of people have jumped to EY at SM and I know they would not have left for 85k (less than our SM band start).Proof that to make money in this game loyalty is not necessarily key!

Guys,Can we double / tripple check these salary bands? Are we sure this is correct?SC for is only £45k while a Manager just about gets £60k?Are we seriously saying that a Senior Manager working all hours of the day and with god knows how much responsibility is earning as much as and sometimes less than a contracting Business Analyst / PM !?!This doesn't feel right, I though SC is around £55-60 (with some smaller MCs paying them up to £70k) and so on.

They aren't correct. Well they may be the bottom of the bands but not the top.SM's have joined FS Risk Advisory on upto £120-130k.What Anon MC said was correct with regards to SC level bands.

This may not be far off based on observations in another Big 4 - the bottoms of the bands have dropped quite a bit in recent years.

Wow, considering everything above around £37k is at 40% tax and the sheer amount of time everyone spends away from family (ie what you are giving up), these lower bands make industry possibly a far better option!

Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone has an idea of the salary levels for a tax consultant at EY London (for 2/3 years of experience). I'm considering applying for a job and wanted to have a vision on the salary levels. Thanks.

Hi, I just got offered a graduate position in FS Risk and I was wondering if you could tell me what's your starting salary? I imagined it's gonna be around £26-28k but someone mentioned £32k.

Agree with these numbers, a top end manager I know really well left last year at 70k salary. The average hike last year was 2% (effectively a salary cut) These are Performance Improvement division numbers; IT Advisory/Consulting sits within this division. Risk Advisory sits outside. Of the Big 4, Deloitte is the best in terms of comp and quality of work (personal opinion)
