Folks,I have couple of questions on McKinsey operations practice.1. Whether the consultant/associate is also allowed to work on strategy projects or strictly limited to operations projects?2. I have heard that salary of an consultant/associate in Operations is way below that of a generalist. Moreover, no bonuses :-(Would be great to know. Thanks in advance.Rgds,VSh

Hello, Vsb,here your answers:1) No. Only ops projects. When not you will be on the beach, working on internal to do's.Sometimes you will have no clients for months. you will always report to a Generalist manager and you will be given your own workstream he will eventually supervise.2) True. However, once you move into industry, your salary will be still higher than the market, ergo you will get no salary match. Operations pays quite bad, if compared to Power point producers.good luck

First year consultant ( with previous years experience in industry - that is Louis Vitton, Toyota, Ford, General Motors and alike): 41,000 pounds ( no more company car)Second year consultant: 46,000 poundsAssociate consultant first year 70,000 poundsAssociate consultant second year, should be around 78,000 poundsEngagement Manager first year: circa 90,000 pounds. No MBA required, from consultant to Associate conslutant, as the previous industry experience should compensate for it. --> therefore you will always receive orders from MBA McKs; ergo the lower salaries.Hope it helps - Good luck

Hello,no idea about the transition, as all those I knew came from 4, 5 years Industry.I know, however, that once from McK to Big4 there was some demand...
