Hi Guys,Recently stumbled across this forum and was hoping a few wise souls might be able to offer me some advice? I graduated in July 2009 with a 2:1 in Business Management from a 'decent' University (i.e. Not a red brick but not London South Bank :) ), I then joined a Public Sector IT Grad Scheme in September 2009. Since completing the scheme in August 2011, and for the final 10 months of the scheme, I have been working primarily as an IT Project Manager with some Service Delivery Management experience thrown in. I have my Prince2 Practitioner, ITIL Foundation and DV Clearance.I have always wanted to move into the private sector, ideally consulting, at some point and feel like now is a good time to do so based on the impending public sector cuts. I guess what I am trying to say is I'd rather jump now than be pushed in 18 months time. The main reason for this post is I'm looking for some advice on the following:1. Given my non-red brick & public sector background, I would be surprised if one of the big four would touch me. Therefore I wondered if anyone could recommend any good non-big four companies?2. If I was successful in applying for a non-big four consultancy, would it be realistic to target a move to a big four company in a few years? Do they recruit from other consultancies regularly or do they mainly recruit fresh-faced grads?3. Is coming in at Consultant level realistic or should I target Analyst level?4. I am currently on £45k (£28k Grad Scheme, jumped on to 'technical' ladder in August 2011 and moved to £40k > Promoted July 2012 to £45k). Maintaining this level of salary isn't paramount; similarly I don't want to take a massive cut. Is £40k - £50k realistic?5. I am really keen to work across a number of other sectors, or at the very least away from the public sector. Is this an achievable aspiration or, given my background, am I destined to be balls deep in public sector process maps till I die?Apologies if I've asked some basic questions, but any help/advice is much appreciated.....
