Hi All,I am IT engineer from India, with 7 years of experience. I am applying to B-schools for career shift towards consulting industry. Please see highlights of my profileTotal years of experience --> 7 years experienceDomains --> Insurance, Airline, Trade Finance, Supply Chain, and Telecom.Clients Worked with --> Qantas Airways, Deutsche Bank, British Telecom and New India Assurance.Education --> Engineering in Electronics and InstrumentationAge --> 32From starting of my career I worked more as a Business Analyst and Team leader than a technical programmer. So I don't want to move towards technical IT consulting. Every one is suggesting it is difficult to get into a management consulting with this background even after the MBA.Now I am in a dilemma whether to try for consulting companies like BCG and Delloitte after my MBA or not1) How difficult it is for me to get into (I may not be getting into top 10 MBA programs in the world, but I am trying for top 25)2) Should I try for any other career, in which I get an opportunity to work for business development role or any strategic planning work (my passion). Thanks,Venkat
