I thought I would share a few comical situations I have experienced during my time at a Big4. When joining a firm you are usually armed with a laptaop, mobile phone, notebook and pen...you would hope!Firstly, I don't get a mobile because I am "too junior" and not allowed to call mobiles from my desk phone - on the odd occasion that I am in the offce therefore can rarely contact clients and my other team members!Trying to get stationery at my firm is like trying to draw blood from a stone. Pens are few and far between and when you do get your hands on one it's green or red! The other day I ran out of pages in my notebook (A4 sized, spiralbound - pretty standard) so I emailed the team sec to arrange a couple for me and sent one of the grads back to the office to pick it up. She returned with an A5 notebook because apparently you have to be a Director or Partner to get one of the A4 books. There are many more situations I have experenced through my short stint at this firm but these two are my highlights.(Please note: I am currently in APAC region so maybe that's how it is here...When I was in London, I was obviously provided a mobile and access to pens and notebooks!)Can anyone else beat this?
