Hi,I am unsure which would be a better option ACN or IBM GBS?IBM is a band 8, ACN is a similar level in consulting. The salary is better at ACN. The technology work area/role is the same for both companies.Which would you choose based on projects, work environment and career progression?

ACN - better consulting brand by far. Political culture. Get good at networking.IBM - softer culture, plenty of people do embedded in the business you can barely see their eyebrows. Been through a restructure recently (UK/Europe, dont know about other territories) and still some fall out from that.If It was me - Accenture.

Agree – My impression is also that Accenture is a much stronger consulting firm.

I bet they would be able to see my eyebrows if I worked there

Poseidon and marsday thanks for the advice so far.Accenture is definitely a stronger consulting firm. I am concerned about the supposed up or out policy they have though. Any other advice is appreciated.

To some extent all consulting firms are up or out - but it's not applied like whitewash so don't worry about it.

And out normally equals a decent payoff, pocket it and go to detoilet and it's happy days!

Accenture is a consultancy. IBM isn't really. Easy choice
