FTI Consulting. Would be grateful if you could share your thoughts on the firm. All responses appreciated. Nothing specific, just want to get a feel for the company.

Any particular area of FTI Camster? They have a good rep in parts - well known and regarded for their forensic/litigation support work. Generally well regarded but not mainstream.

I personally don't know anything about them, but if you choose an office location from within the "our people" section of their website, it lists the profiles of people who work there. You can probably deduce quite a lot about the firm in general by scanning through their CVs? Also, just as a general observation, almost everybody it lists (as in, dozens of people in London alone) seems to have the job title of "Senior Managing Director" or "Managing Director"... so one might conclude that they are either a gigantic firm (what with having so many MDs around), or there is a bit of job title inflation going on?

Bushy they compete with firms like Alix, Alvarex, Zolfo Cooper, Duff & Phelps and the rest - especially on the restructuring side it's a seniority model, so all those big titles are actually execution/delivery grades, it's just a cultural thing in that area because most hires are already senior when they laterally move across.

Thanks guys. Was approached for this:Our client is rapidly expanding their small TMT corporate finance division. They plan to expand their team from 3 to 8 employees, firstly focusing on the UK and then expanding into the rest of EMEA. The team will be built from hand-picked subject matter specialists from backgrounds ranging from corporate finance to management consulting. Joining as the director of the TMT corporate finance division will allow the right candidate to experience a fast-paced and dynamic team within a well-established and stable multinational organisation. ABOUT THE COMPANY: The firm is a global business advisory firm dedicated to helping organizations protect and enhance enterprise value in an increasingly complex legal, regulatory and economic environment. With more than 3,800 professionals located in most major business centres around the world, they work closely with clients every day to anticipate, illuminate, and overcome complex business challenges in areas such as investigations, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues, reputation management and restructuring. Their professionals are some of the most experienced leaders in their field and their workforce includes numerous PhDs, MBAs, CPAs, CFEs, JDs, and technologists with expertise across a broad range of industries. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Our client is growing the corporate consulting side of its business and there is an exciting opportunity to join the small but quickly expanding TMT department. As a Director you will manage a team of Consultants and Senior Consultants under the supervision and direction of a Senior Director. You will be responsible for executing projects start to finish, managing client relationships, performing complex analysis, and clearly communicating results in the form of written reports and oral presentations. You will have extensive experience within corporate finance or consulting. This should include professional exposure to accounting, management consultancy, or technical corporate finance. PRIMARY DUTIES: •Managing a team of Senior Consultants and Consultants •Supporting the Senior Director in developing the TMT team in the UK and EMEA •Preparing effective corporate analysis including P&L sheets, balance sheet analysis, market research, benchmarking •Preparing effective PowerPoint presentations and quantitative exhibits for third parties on project scope and findings. •Maintaining a professional image within the firm and project the same to those outside the firm. •Tracking the progress of cases and monitor workflow of different matters. •Coordinating and reviewing the work of others and ensure the timely completion of engagements. Desired Skills & Experience •8+ years experience in technical corporate finance •TMT experience is highly desirable •EMEA experience and accounting/auditing qualifications are a plus •The desire to join and build a newly-established teamDon't know much about them but apparently, they've started a UK TMT practice. CF is boring though. The thing that appeals? Being able to build a new team. Quite like doing this.

hard to see the potential for a new TMT practice in UK or Europe currently - this will be a digital practice methinks, one of a number of MCs making a play for business in interactive
