Hello All,I have the stage 1 interview in Deloitte Brisbane office in the strategy and operations team. Does anyone have any experiences in this office/team with the interview style? Also its not a case interview just a general interview with a partner. I work in operations team in one of the resources compnay so dressing up formally is pretty alien to me. What would be a good interview outfit (Does it have to be tie and jacket or just formal shirts and trousers?)Also are there any people who have had past experiences with the strategy and operations team of Deloitte Australia. What is their working style, salaries (for a consultant role), client base (compared to other boutique consultancies), % travel etc.Cheers,Arjit

Yes wear a suit and tie, goes without saying for a job interview, and polish your shoes, your days of rocking around unshaven in jeans are probably over.I would direct all your other questions at the partner during the interview, as it should be a two way process. He should be happy to answer these for you and will surely give you the most accurate information.

From what have heard, brisbane is a nice place. If you are going in first round, there will likely be HR involved, so dont ignore them and put all questions to the partner.

Thanks a lot Gunslinger and Anon123. Yeah, I live pretty close to Brisbane. The role is in S&O team so I was wondering if anyone has an idea what sort of tone does an interview with a partner goes? ( I have never interacted with a consulting partner before). What sort of checks do they generally go through for selecting candidates given that they are skipping the case interview process. Thanks again.

Partners (and any other interviewers) will be expecting the same people skills and professionalism that they would expect of you in front of a client - this is what's actually being assessed every time you open your mouth. Beyond that, the tone will depend on the person's style, so could be fun & friendly or cool & to the point.

I am just about preparing for the interview. One of the anticipated (cliched) questions is along three weaknesses and strengths. Was wondering if anyone has used any that i could steal of esp if someone is coming from the resources background.

Don't bother trying to make them up. As a Partner interviewer I will have formed a view of you in the first 5 minutes and if I ask that question I'm usually wondering how self aware you are. Just be yourself and you can't go wrong.
