Hey All,Been a while since I last visited this place after joining Accenture. I was given some useful advice (and a few adverse ones) so thought it best to pen down my experience so far. To recap, I joined the Consulting work force as a Manager in Oct(after negotiating a low ball offer), had a few heated discussions/rants with some seriously pessimistic boarders and decided it was best to come back on after I actually spent some time with ACN. Work life balance in the area I work has been great with just about a week's worth of 10hr days over the past 10 months. People have been great both below and above my level with excellent work ethics. The saying that you get to work with some really smart and fun teams is genuinely true. You do get the odd one or two that you really want to strangle but I'm not complaining :-)Except for a slow (though able) HR team and the need to have a good network to bag the right role, there hasnt been a lot to point fingers at. Laterals do tend to find it more difficult to blend in and feel lost but that's improving slowly. All in all, a lot better than what I had expected and definitely heaven in comparison to how previous posters had some snide remarks packed with a few low punches at ACN in general. While I have worked/managed Services and Delivery areas, I do accept I can only speak for Consulting and nothing else. My rating so far is a 7 on 10 including work, people, pay and benefits - there is room for improvement but ACN is much better than other places out thereAces

Not that bad really, about 1hr door to door as I work outside London.....but I havent had a lot to travel thanks to the projects I have been on. Travel is really down to where you get a role and nothing more.I met a few guys in London who happily travelled 1hr each way but that was due to the fact they had decent work hours so managed itAces

Not really, just a personal choice. For UK location, all down to the role you pick and feel best suits your profile. I prefer being in and around London and luckily found roles (so far) that suit my skills so I get to come home ever night :-) There are many who live in/around London and prefer roles in the City/daily commute and that's possible too (obviously you cannot get away with rejecting all roles that take you away from your home)Regarding international locations, I know some who have moved to London from other places and also heard of successful moves out of UK. Seen a few roles advertised which clearly state its an out of country role so definitely an option for those who love to travel and experience different cultures (again, down to how well it suits your profile and if the client accepts your skill set)Aces
