I have been offered a T7 grade in Capgemini technology services, UK. I am currently a Manager in Cognizant ... what do you suggest?

T8 = manager at Capgemini technology services given by the T grade T7 is what's called a senior technical strategy consultant or senior consultant - if you have the offer try and negotiate if not wait till you do

Fred, you have got it all wrong. I work at Cap’s TS Division, and know T7s who are Programme Managers and T6s who are Project Managers. OP: I think T7 is a good fit for someone who is coming in as a Manager from Cognizant. Infact, the best way is to use salary as the basis, and I am sure what is offered to you as T7 is very much at par (if not better) than what you are getting as a manager at any other consultancy. Unless, you want to believe that Cap is paying its Sr. Consultants more than what others are paying their managers.

To Capgeminier - you are wrong you are mixing grade up with job title - if you are a manager grade at Accenture or Delloitte then the direct comparison for that responsibility is T8 or C4 - the poster as a manager probably reports to a SM then to to perhaps a director or SE. At Cap you would be T7 reporting potentially to T8 (mgr) then T9 (principal/director) then to VP - maybe another way to look at it could beEg an accenture manager is manager -> smgr-> se/vp ie 2 steps away from SE and this is the same typically in other consultanciesAt Cap a T7 is 3 (T8, T9, VP)

@FRED I can't comment on T7 specifically as I'm in consulting, but if you think the C4 grade in Capgemini Consulting is directly equivalent to Manager in Accenture / Deloitte you are missing the point.Having worked as a mgr in Acn and subsequently as a C4 I can confirm that the two grades are not equivalent. Responsibilities are greater as a C4.C4 role is closer to a Snr Mgr in Acn, wheras C5 is closer to SE / Associate PAssuming that the C3 grade is equivalent to a T7 technology grade it is reasonable to conclude that T7 is equivalent to Manager at other consulting firms. However at the end of the day a grade is just a grade. Give me good work and the salary to back it up anytime!

HorseI'm also ex cap and acn and I think Fred is generally correct if :-Horse you'll know from your acn days the org called ATS - a manager in ATS is no way comparible with a manager in say ACN finance or government consulting lines. Cross this over to Cap - an ATS manager probably relates to a T7 - Freds point is a ACN consulting manager would be higher and in Cap probably equates to the C4 if consulting or T8 grade if technology based depending on what they were doing.

The ATS comparison is fine, however specifically for consulting I still don't think the M1 and C4 grades are equivalent, but then that's just my personal opinion

Thanks a lot guys, this is really useful. As I understand the grades are T7, T8, T9 and then VP. If I compare the same with Cognizant it is Senior Manager grade which we are referring to for T7 followed by Director, AVP and then VP.The flex salary is approx 73K what do you guys suggest?

How would one compare a Band 9 (Senior Consultant) at IBM with a T7 level at CG? Would appreciate if someone who has a good idea of both can clarify, both in terms of organisational hierarchy as well as salary.ThanksEther
