I know this has been discussed few times, but just a slightly different case here and any advice would be appreciated.Here is the situation.I have accepted offer from company 1 and will be joining them soon. I am currently interviewing with Company 2 which is one of the worlds most prestigious firm and my first choice.Company 2 doesnt know that I have an offer from Company 1 and that I have accepted it. It is not possible for me to delay Company 1's joining and the time is too short to complete interview processes with Company 2 before I join Company 1.So in all likelihood I may have an offer from company 2 after I join company 1.If that happens or I know that is going to happen, should I advise company 2 that I am with a new employer however they are my first choice (I have compelling reasons for this) if I get an offer. Or should I just not say anything ? But this may show up in the P45 which will be from a different employer.Thanks

I would say that you should discuss your situation with company 2, and if they really want to hire you they will come back to you much quicker.

Man Up!Remember your integrity is one of the most important things you ever have (as the companies you work for often won't have any). But don't worry about hurting the feelings of a multinational.Never worry about the P45 as that goes to an HR bod and your hiring manager doesn't ever see it.

To be honest I think you'd be crazy to join a firm like Company 1 that you have so little regard for in any case.I think you'd be much better off to go get a contracting job (Freshminds, Mindbench or something) and look for a company that both wants you and that you want to join.Also, this is a small industry and if you do join Company 1, and then quit to go to Company 2 very quickly then I can confidently tell you that two things will happen:1. Company 1 will be annoyed, and will tell people about it when you bump into them again (as you almost certainly will over your career)2. Company 2 will hear about it. And maybe they will take a dim view of your lack of integrity.

Thanks for the replies.The only problem is that I have not yet received an offer from Company 2 and have still few rounds of interviews left with them...while I will be joining Company 1 soon.Company 1 is also a reputed firm, but company 2 blows company 1 or anyone else out there. I cant risk my job with company 1 when I have not yet received an offer from company2.My only query was if ever I get offer from company 2 after joining company1 should I tell them of my situation ? and also during the next rounds of interviews should I honestly let them know of my situation and that such things arise because you never get all the offers at the same time and if I had two offers at the same time I wouldnt have accepted company 1.
