Hi thereI'm currently working at Accenture. I've been here since January, but I'm having doubts about whether I want to carry on here.I studied Economics at University. Since working at the firm, I've been in a high level design role, on a systems integration project. Coming from a non IT background, I've found the work difficult, as everything is new to me, so I'm not even familiar with more basic IT terms. My main concern, is that if I stay here I will be wasting my time. I'm not particularly interested in tech consulting, and due to the possibility of rotating projects every half a year, I don't believe I'll have chance to develop a technical knowledge in a certain area. I'm worried that if I stay here for a few years, I'll have no qualifications and if I then choose to leave, I'll be stuck, with nothing really to show for the work. Thus I'm wondering if I should move into something more financial / numerical based, with qualifications, such as Accounting or Actuarial work (applying for a grad scheme with 2013 entry). I have a few questions, that I was wondering what you all thought;1. Does the opportunity to gain qualifications such as the ACA, make a big difference, compared to someone involved in Consultancy? Like I said, I feel that if I leave in 2 / 3 years, I won't have any specific skills set (due to rotating projects), and will find it hard to get work elsewhere. Whilst if I go into Accountancy, I have been trained to do something specific. 2. If I go into Accountancy / Actuarial work, will there be less bullshitting, due to the fact I've been trained in the role? I just feel stupid in my current job, and would like to understand what I'm talking about, so I can actually be an asset for the company / client. I don't feel I'm good at blagging, which is making my current role harder.3. Finally, if I'm going to leave, how long should I wait? How long until it will count as valuable experience, as a first job. Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)
