Hi all,I'd appreciate your take on this situation. I'm working in a smaller firm in the UK, having come from a varied background in a number of regions outside of UK/Europe. I have an MBA from a mid range UK school... think Cranfield/Manchester/BathI was hired at the Consultant grade having about 7 years of work experience with some decent line management experience and a couple years at an unknown, rather unproven consultancy firm outside of Europe. SC grade at this firm is = to Manager at ACN.I have been with my current firm for close to a year and a half and have been leading independant workstreams on my own and have been sold additional work once on client site, with little to no support. In my opinion this is not 'C' grade stuff.I was very humble during the hiring process and think i've undersold myself and now having trouble shaking that reputation despite results. I like the company/people/client work.... but think I'm slightly underpaid and find it frustrating working with people considered senior to me who I see as 'green' in many ways, but have the 3-5 years at a Big 4. Stick it out... test market value.. or both?

you are right - this is not consultant level, but you will have been pushed down on not having a recognised, blue chip consulting pedigree. As you mentioned yourself your previous firm was 'unknown, rather unproven' and this has made the difference. Test your market value as best you can. Your experience looks very good on paper, but without knowing where you are and were it's difficult to offer specific advice. You mentioned a smaller firm in the UK - would you be able to offer some firms you think comparable to give us an idea of scale of role etc?

Agree with the assessment Mars has provided. Test the market, see where that takes you. I also saw a helpful article in the Wall Street Journal these last days. Suggest it's worth a quick look:http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10000872396390444320704577562910678738168.htmlGood luck securing an acceptable outcome.Regards, Tony RestellFounder, http://www.Social-Hire.com and http://www.Top-Consultant.com
