Hi AllI know there are a bunch of threads all asking a variation on the theme of 'have I got a chance @ MBB'? already on this forum. However, I thought this one is either a little new or, at very least, hasn't been raised for a while! My question is quite simples - Would one of the MBB set countenance an application from someone with c.7yrs of varied experience in the same industry but no MBA? Appreciate that the question is so general as to be almost meaningless but just wanted to get a sense from the more senior guys on here as to whether they see much of these sort of hires? Surely someone like me would add a significant level of credibility to a case team? For a little more personal detail, I'm based in the UK but wanting to move to Sydney. And my industry is the glorious world of retail.Cheers for now!

in strategy I think this unlikely - simply because they have defined entry points, and you will be in fierce competition with others at a similar level of experience who also hold an MBA. In ops you stand a better chance as they are 'expert' track but you'll still need stellar academics - so unless you already have a 1st from a top university at first degree then I wouldnt waste your time and energy pursuing this. There are other MCs in Sydney - Deloitte were hiring there a little while ago, might be worth investigating?

Yes it is possible, but very unlikely. As mars said the vast majority of experienced hires will have an MBA on top of their industry experience. If you do have a particular skill they are looking for you can get in without an MBA - there was exactly 1 person in my start group like that. If that group is representative you're looking at ~1/30 without MBA x whatever the competition is for each spot.

Thanks marsday, baykus. Glad you both replied. I've looked at Deloitte this afternoon and there isn't much on there right now so will register my interest generally.Final thought though, would doing the EMBA (part time) at LBS help though or would it be an expensive waste of time?!Thanks again!
