Whats the general opinion about BTGS , is it a well regarded company ? any employees past or present care to share their opinion ?

Am an ex employee - did their grad scheme about 5 years ago. They were a mess then, and probably haven't moved on much since I left.BT is an interesting company to work for, if you want to go into industry. Don't confuse Global Services with a consultancy - they aren't, they're a services front end for selling products. Vast majority of roles are project management inspired. However (and it's a pretty big however) - their grad scheme was pretty interesting when I was there. You get some good exposure to a mix of business areas.The downside is the brand name - it depends entirely where you want to end up, but it's not going to be the ticket to top consultancies.

I left the grad scheme last year.I started in Sept. 2007. Less than 30% of the original intake remain.It was a mess 5 years ago, it was a mess when I started, it's a mess today.However, many of my ex-colleagues are now in Deloitte. Go figure.

Says more about the company's management than the quality of the grads, in my opinion. They were a bright bunch with a good mix of academics and work experience. Were just unfortunate enough to go for the slick grad scheme recruitment, which the business couldn't follow up on.

I'm ex BT GS and I wouldn't recommend them as a starting point. There is good people in GS and the grad scheme can be good for some but very few stay as BT doesn't really know how to or care about maanging talent.
